About The Event

February 19th- Vernal Pools with Kevin Tolan
In our second winter speaker series of the season, we are joined by Vermont Center for Ecostudies staff biologist Kevin Tolan to learn about vernal pools. Kevin is from coastal Maine and received his M.S. in wildlife biology from The University of Vermont in 2025, his undergrad alma mater. Growing up he was always interested in the nature surrounding him, particularly the reptiles, amphibians, and bugs found in and around his backyard vernal pool, as well as the creatures stranded in tide pools at his local state parks. Kevin splits his time between vernal pool and avian research, working closely with local conservation groups and community members to conserve wildlife throughout the state. We are excited to see Kevin present!
