The Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers provide us with great opportunities to enjoy our landscape and our communities all year long! Check out the events that our Wild & Scenic Committee will be hosting along our rivers this year.
Summer Days on the River
This summer, youths (ages 9-15) can enjoy
a free guided day trip along our beautiful
Wild & Scenic Rivers - several dates and options available.
Reservations required; to sign up, click on your trip date and location of choice; please contact us with questions.
Drop off at the put-in (see each trip for details) between 8 & 8:30am; pick-up at the take-out at 3pm.
Limit of 6 participants per trip; hand sanitizer and masks will be provided; each participant will be socially distant in their own kayak (members of the same household may share a canoe if preferred).
Bagged lunch will be provided.
A separate registration is required for each participant.
Limit of 2 trips per participant
(may request to be wait-listed for additional trips).

- Sun, May 18UMATR & MRBA OfficeCome meet UMATR Staff, Committee members, and our MRBA partners take a tour of our office space, and enjoy coffee and delicious locally-sourced baked goods!
- Sat, Jun 28Location is TBD in Orleans CountyJoin us for Paddle Instruction and Tour ! This is a guided paddle along the Missisquoi River aimed to teach new paddler's tips and tricks as well as refresh more experienced paddlers!
- Thu, Jul 10Location is TBDJoin us for a guided nature paddle, led by UMATR staff and Orleans Co. Forester, Jared Nunery! Location TBD.
- Sat, Jul 12Davis ParkJoin UMATR and the Northern Forest Canoe Trail for our annual Paddle and Pedal in which we paddle from Richford to East Berkshire, and bike pedal back via the rail trail. Proceeds benefit the NFCT!
- Sun, Aug 03Location is TBD - Dependent on water levelsJoin us for our annual Paddle and Picnic, as we paddle a section of the Missisquoi river, and provide a free meal to enjoy!
- Sat, Sep 06Montgomery CenterJoin us for our annual Swimming Hole Clean-Up as well meet at Riverwalk Park, and go to local swimming spots to clean them up after a summer of use. Participants get a gift certificate to a local business!
